What Makes Coffee "Specialty"?
Specialty coffee isn't just a marketing term — it's a grading standard. To qualify, beans must score 85 points or above out of 100 on the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) scale, assessed by certified Q Graders. It accounts for growing altitude, processing method, flavour clarity, and the absence of defects.

When we set out to create our pod range, we made one non-negotiable decision: the coffee inside had to meet our standard, not a pod manufacturer's. That meant working with our existing single-origin lots and blends — beans we've sourced directly from farmers and roasted in small batches to bring out their best.
The result is a pod that delivers the complexity, sweetness, and clarity you'd expect from a specialty roaster — not the flat, bitter experience that gives pod coffee a bad name.
